SS-31 30MG(Elamipretide) | Peptide Complex
Mitochondrial
SS-31, also known as Elamipretide or MTP-131, is a cell-permeable tetrapeptide (D-Arg-2',6'-Dmt-Lys-Phe-NH2) that selectively targets and concentrates within the inner mitochondrial membrane, where it interacts with cardiolipin — a phospholipid critical to mitochondrial architecture and electron transport chain efficiency. SS-31 has been studied in multiple human clinical trials for heart failure, renal disease, and mitochondrial myopathy, making it one of the most clinically advanced mitochondria-targeting peptides in existence.
Cardiolipin Stabilization — SS-31 binds directly to cardiolipin on the inner mitochondrial membrane, preventing its peroxidation and maintaining the structural integrity of cristae and electron transport chain supercomplexes.
ATP Production Enhancement — By improving electron transport chain coupling efficiency, SS-31 research has demonstrated significant increases in cellular ATP output in aged and dysfunctional mitochondria.
Ischemia-Reperfusion Protection — Clinical and preclinical studies have shown SS-31 may reduce mitochondrial damage and cell death following ischemia-reperfusion injury in cardiac, renal, and neural tissue.
Age-Related Mitochondrial Decline — Research indicates SS-31 may partially reverse age-associated mitochondrial dysfunction, improving energy output and reducing oxidative stress in aged tissue models.
Muscle Function & Fatigue — Studies in aged animal models and early human trials suggest SS-31 may improve skeletal muscle energetics, exercise tolerance, and mitochondrial respiration in conditions of bioenergetic failure.
